Add quick job order

A job order authorizes and outlines the production of an item. You can add a quick job order for items that are for internal use or for stock.

What’s quick about a quick job order?

You cannot add quick job orders for items under lot control.

To add quick job order

  1. Open the Quick Job Order (QCKJO) page.

    1. Select Production Management > Production Transactions > Shop Floor > Quick Job Order.

      Or

    2. Search for QCKJO or Quick Job Order in the Navigation box and then select Quick Job Order.

  2. Click the Facility dropdown and select the facility.

  3. Click the Part Number lookup reference.

    The Lookup For Part Number window appears.

  4. Select the row that contains the required job order and click Select. Or double-click the part for which to create the job order.

    Click Cancel to exit from the Lookup For Part Number window.

  5. Enter the quantity to produce in the Job Order Quantity box.

    Or click the icon to display the calculator. Select an appropriate value.

  6. Specify where to store the items when the job order is complete:

    • Click the Move to Location lookup reference.

      The Lookup For Move to Location window appears.

    • Select the row that contains the required location and click Select. Or double-click the row.

      Click Cancel to exit from the Lookup For Move to Location window.

    • Click the Bin lookup reference.

      The Lookup For Bin window appears.

    • Select the row that contains the required bin name and click Select. Or double-click the row. Or in the Bin box, enter the bin name.

      Click Cancel to exit from the Lookup For Bin window.

    • Type any comments about the inventory transaction in the Transaction Comment box.

      These comments appear on the Inventory Movement Report.

  7. To backflush the materials in the job order from the standard location, select the Backflush From Standard Location checkbox.

    Or to backflush inventory from a specific location:

    • Clear the Backflush From Standard Location checkbox.

    • Click the Backflush From lookup reference.

      The Lookup For Backflush From window appears.

    • Select the row and click Select. Or, double-click to select a location from which to backflush the inventory.

      Click Cancel to exit from the Lookup For Backflush From window.

    • Click the Bin lookup reference.

      The Lookup For Bin window appears.

    • Select the row and click Select to select the bin name. Or, double-click the row. Or, in the Bin box, enter the bin name.

      Click Cancel to exit from the Lookup For Bin window.

  8. On the toolbar, click Create Job. The quick job order is added.
