Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) is the computer-to-computer exchange of business documents in a standardized electronic format. EDI module in Made2Manage (M2M) offers the following capabilities:

Import Transactions: You can import customer transactions, such as requests for quotations and purchase orders, from your Aptean EDI host’s network. This process generates corresponding M2M documents like quotations and sales orders.
Export Transactions: You can export existing M2M documents, such as purchase order acknowledgments and accounts receivable invoices, as outbound transactions.

The Fixed File Format, a proprietary and static format developed by M2M, is utilized for integration with compatible host communications software.

In version 8.0, this process is enhanced through a JSON payload, which facilitates the transfer of data between M2M and EDI One via the API.

To effectively utilize the EDI module, the following infrastructure elements are required:
EDI One Communications Software: This software converts the received information into a format suitable for internal processing.
Consistent Data Formats: These formats define how information in a message is organized.
