Record labor related to service order

Use the Service Order Record Time window to record labor related to a service order. You can log the amount of time spent on the service order to ensure that you charge the customer appropriately. You can record labor and the time spent processing the service order.

  1. Open the Field Service Control (FSORD) page.

    1. Select Customer Relationship Management > CRM Transactions > Field Service> Field Service Control.

    Or

    1. Search for FSORD or Field Service Control in the Navigation box and then select Field Service Control.

    Field Service Control (FSORD) page appears.

  2. On the Toolbar, click More Actions.

  3. Select More Actions > Actions > Service Order Record Time.

    The Service Order Record Time (FSTIME) window appears.

  4. On the childtoolbar, click New.

  5. Specify labor information:

  6. Select the service technician:

    1. Click the Service Rep/Technician lookup reference.

      The Lookup For Service Rep/Technician window appears.

    2. Select the row that contains the required technician’s initials and click Select. Or double-click the technician’s initials.

  7. Select the Completed checkbox, if the service is complete for the service order.

  8. Enter the labor type.

    1. Click the Labor Type lookup reference .

      The Lookup For Labor Type window appears.

    2. Select the row that contains the required labor type and click Select. Or double-click the required row to select the labor type.

  9. In the Type of Transaction area, select one of the following:

    • Service: For a service call.

    • PM: For a preventative maintenance service order.

    • Kit: For a field kit service order.

  10. Record labor time:

    1. In the Start Time box, enter the time and date when the labor began for the service order.

    2. In the Stop Time box, enter the time and date when the labor ended for this service order.

    3. To enter the total elapsed time for this date range in hours, enter the time in the Elapsed Time(Hours) box.

  11. To charge the customer for this labor, select the Billable checkbox.

  12. Select the account to charge time to:

    1. Click the Charge Time To Account lookup reference .

      The Lookup For Charge Time To Account window appears.

    2. Select the row that contains the required GL account number and click Select. Or double-click the GL account number you want to use to charge the labor time.

  13. On the grid toolbar, click Save .

    The details entered are displayed in the grid.

    After you record labor for field-service technicians, you can record information about the types of parts you use to fulfill a service order.
