Associate parts with a manufacturer

You can associate parts in your item master with the manufacturers who make them. You can also identify what part numbers a manufacturer uses to identify those parts.

To add a manufacturer while working in this window, right-click in the Manufacturer Number field to open the Manufacturer form.

To associate parts with a manufacturer

1. Open the Manufacturer Parts (MFRPRT) page.

   • Select Production Management > Master Data > Manufacturer Parts.

   Or

   • Search for MFRPRT or Manufacturer Parts in the Navigation box and then select Manufacturer Parts.

     The Manufacturer Parts (MFRPRT) page appears.

2. On the Toolbar, click Browse.

   The Browse For Manufacturing Parts window appears.

3. Select the row that contains the required item, and click Select.

   Or double-click the row that contains the required item.

   Click Cancel to exit from the Browse For Manufacturing Parts window.

4. In the Manufacturer section, on the grid toolbar, click New.

   Or on the grid toolbar, click Copy, to add a manufacturer based on the current manufacturer.

5. Click the Number lookup reference.

   The Lookup For Number window appears.

6. Select the row that contains the required manufacturer, and click Select.

   Or double-click the row that contains the required manufacturer.

   Click Cancel to exit from the Lookup For Number window.

7. Set manufacturer part information:

   1. In the Part box, type the number that the manufacturer uses to identify the part.

   2. In the U/M list, select the measurement the manufacturer uses for the part.

8. In the Comments box, type your comments.

9. On the Toolbar, click Save.

10. To associate another manufacturer with the part, repeat steps 4 to 9.
