Record regular labor for shop floor employees

Regular processing of direct labor records the start and end time for labor an employee performs against a job order. You can record regular labor for your shop floor employees.

To record regular labor for shop floor employees

  1. Open the Daily Labor (LABR) page.

    • Select Production Management > Production Transactions > Shop Floor > Daily Labor.

      Or

    • Search for LABR or Daily Labor in the Navigation box and then select Daily Labor.

      The Daily Labor (LABR) page appears.

  2. To add an employee’s labor for a new date:

    • On the toolbar, click New.

    • Click the Employee Number lookup reference.

      The Lookup For Employee Number window appears.

    • Select the required row and click Select. Or double-click the employee.

      Click Cancel to exit from the Lookup For Employee Number window.

    • In the Date box, enter the date on which the shift started. Or click the Calendar icon to display the Calendar. select an appropriate date.

    • On the toolbar, click Save.

      Or to add labor for an employee on an existing date:

    • On the toolbar, click Browse.

      The Browse For Daily Labor window appears.

    • Select a required row and click Select. Or, double-click the employee and date that matches the date in which the shift started.

      Click Cancel to exit from the Browse For Daily Labor window.

    • On the child toolbar, click New.

      The Create New Daily Labor window appears.

  3. Click the Regular in the Labor Type section and click Accept.

    Click Cancel to exit from the Create New Daily Labor window.

  4. Set job information:

    1. Click the Job Number lookup reference.

      The Lookup For Job Number window appears.

    2. Select the required row and click Select. Or, double-click the job for which to post labor.

      Click Cancel to exit from the Lookup For Job Number window.

    3. Click the Operation Number lookup reference.

      The Lookup For Operation Number window appears.

    4. Select a row and click Select. Or, double-click the operation number for which to post the labor.

      Click Cancel to exit from the Lookup For Operation Number window.

    5. If the Start Date & Time and the End Date & Time boxes are available, enter the start and end times. Or click the icon at the end of the Start Date & Time and End Date & Time fields to display the Calendar. Select an appropriate date.

      Or if the Elapsed Time box is available, enter the amount of time it took to perform the operation.

  5. Set production information:

    • In the Quantity Complete box, enter the number of units completed at this operation. Or click the Calendar icon to display the Calculator. Select an appropriate value.

    • In the Quantity Scrapped box, enter the number of units scrapped at this operation. Or click the calculator icon to display the Calculator. Select an appropriate value.

    • In the Shift box, enter the shift number in which the labor was performed.

  6. Set miscellaneous information:

    • Click the Earnings Code lookup reference.

      The Lookup For Earnings Code window appears.

    • Select the required row and click Select to select a code that describes the earnings. Or double click to select the row.

      Click Cancel to exit from the Lookup For Earnings Code window.

    • Select the Production or Setup radio button to indicate if this labor is part of production or setup.

    • If this labor is part of additional work put into the job order, select the Additional Operation checkbox.

    • Select the Rework checkbox, if this reqork of the job order.

    • Select the Auto Complete Operation checkbox to automatically complete the status of this operation, even if the quantity completed is less than the quantity to go.

    • select the Lead Person checkbox, if this employee is the lead person for this operation,

      Select the Lead Person checkbox to post the quantity complete or record overhead costs associated with this employee.

    • Select the Overtime checkbox, if work for the operation is overtime.

  7. On the toolbar, click Save.
