Add, change or remove NAICS codes

You can add, change, or remove North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) codes.

The SIC code system was replaced in 1997 by the NAICS code system and will no longer be updated. NAICS is used for the collection, analysis, and publication of economic statistics and comparability of business activity across all of North American. Since SIC codes may still be used for existing accounts, the SIC field is still provided.

To add, change, or remove NAICS codes

1. Open the NAICS Codes (NAICS) page.

2. Select Utilities > Company Setup > Sales > NAICS Codes.

   Or

   1. Search for NAICS in the Navigation box and then select NAICS Codes.

      NAICS Codes (NAICS) page appears.

3. On the Toolbar, click New.

4. In the NAICS Code field, type the numeric NAICS code.

5. In the Description field, type a description of the business activity covered by the NAICS code.

6. Click the SIC Code lookup reference icon and select the SIC code.

7. On the Toolbar click Save to save, else click Cancel.

To change an NAICS code

1. Select the NAICS code.

2. Make the required changes.

3. On the Toolbar click Save to save, else click Cancel.

To remove an NAICS code

1. Select the NAICS code.

2. On the Toolbar, click Delete.

   A message, Preparing to delete this information. Are you sure? is dis- played.

3. Click Yes to confirm deletion.

To select the NAICS code

1. Open the NAICS Codes (NAICS) page.

2. Select Utilities > Company Setup > Sales > NAICS Codes.

   Or

   1. Search for NAICS in the Navigation box and then select NAICS Codes

      NAICS Codes (NAICS) page appears.

3. On the Toolbar, click Browse.

   The Browser For NAICS Code window appears.

4. Highlight a row and click Select. Or, double-click the row.
