Release a job order to the production floor

Release a job order when you are ready to send a job to the production floor. Once you release a job order, you can post labor and issue stock to the job.

To release a job order to the production floor

  1. Open the Job Orders (JO) page.

    1. Select Production Management > Production Transactions > Shop Floor > Job Orders.

      Or

    2. Search for JO or Job Orders in the Navigation box and then select Job Orders.

      Job Orders (JO) page appears.

  2. On the Toolbar, click Browse.

    The Browse For Job Orders window appears.

  3. Select the row that contains the required job order, and click Select. Or, double-click the row that contains the required job order.

    Click Cancel to exit from the Browse For Job Orders window.

  4. Click the Status button.

    The Job Orders Change Status window appears.

  5. Click the Status button, and select Released.

  6. Set the date, identify yourself, and add any comments:

    1. In the Job Status Changed Date box, type a date if today is not the date you want to put the job order on hold.

      Or click the icon at the end of the Job Status Changed Date box to display the calendar. Select the required date.

    2. In the by box, type your initials.

    3. In the Comment box, type comments.

  7. Click OK.

  8. Set printing options for the job order release:

    1. Select the Traveler Printed check box to generate a production floor traveler for the job order.

    2. Select the Pick List Printed check box, to generate a pick list for the job order.

    3. On the Toolbar, click Save.

    4. On the Toolbar, click More Actions.

    5. Select More Actions > Reports > Production Floor Travelers.

      The Production Floor Travelers report appears in a new tab of the browser.

    6. Click the Print icon on your browser to print the report.

      Or click the Save icon on your browser to save the report.
