Add a part's cross-references

For each standard part, you can assign four types of part number cross references.

To add a part’s cross-reference

  1. Open the Part Cross Reference (CROS) page.

    • Select Production Management > Master Data > Part Cross Reference.

    Or

    • Search for CROS or Part Cross Reference in the Navigation box and then select Part Cross Reference.

      The Part Cross Reference (CROS) page appears.

  2. On the Toolbar, click New.

    Or on the Toolbar, click Copy, to base this cross-reference on the one the page shows.

    • Set up a customer cross-reference:

      1. In the Reference Type list, select Customer.

      2. Click the Customer No lookup reference.

      The Lookup For Customer No window appears.

      1. Select the row that contains the required customer, and click Select.

        Or double-click the row that contains the required customer.

        Click Cancel to exit from the Lookup For Customer No window.

      2. In the Customer Part No field, type the customer’s part number.

      3. In the Inventory Facility list, select the facility. The list shows Default by default.

      4. Click the Inventory Part No lookup reference.

        The Lookup For Inventory Part No window appears.

      5. Select the row that contains the required inventory part number, and click Select.

        Or double-click the row that contains the required inventory part number.

        Click Cancel to exit from the Lookup For Inventory Part No window.

      6. In the Rev field, type the Rev number.

    • Set up aninventory cross-reference:

      1. In the Reference Type list, select Inventory.

      2. In the Priority field, type a number to indicate the priority this substitute has compared to any others.

      3. In the Substitute Facility / Inventory Facility list, select the facility. The list shows Default by default.

      4. Click the Substitute Part No / Inventory Part No lookup reference.

        The Lookup For Substitute Part No / Lookup For Inventory Part No window appears respectively.

      5. Select the row that contains the substitute part number / inventory part number, and click Select.

        Or double-click the row that contains the substitute part number / inventory part number.

        Click Cancel to exit from the Lookup For Substitute Part No / Lookup For Inventory Part No window respectively.

      6. In the Rev field, type the Rev number.

    • Set up a vendor cross-reference:

      1. In the Reference Type list, select Vendor.

      2. In the Priority field, type a number to indicate the priority this substitute has compared to any others.

      3. In the Substitute Part No field, type the substitute part number.

      4. In the Inventory Facility list, select the facility. The list shows Default by default.

      5. Click the Inventory Part No lookup reference.

        The Lookup For Inventory Part No window appears.

      6. Select the row that contains the required part number, and click Select.

        Or double-click the row that contains the required part number.

        Click Cancel to exit from the Lookup For Inventory Part No window.

      7. In the Rev field, type the Rev number.

  3. On the Toolbar, click Save to keep the cross-reference.
