Replace a component part throughout all standard bills of material

You can replace one component part with another throughout all standard bills of material.

This does not affect existing bills of material for particular jobs.

To replace a component part throughout all standard bills of material

1. Open the Replace Part in Std BOMs (REPLPN) page.

   • Select Production Management > Master Data > Replace Part in Std BOMs.

   Or

   • Search for REPLPN or Replace Part in Std BOMs in the Navigation box and then select Replace Part in Std BOMs.

   Replace Part in Std BOMs (REPLPN) page appears.

2. On the Toolbar, click Browse.

   The Browse For Replace Part in Std BOMs window appears.

3. Select a row, and click Select. Or, double click the component part you want to replace.

   Click Cancel to exit from the Browse For Replace Part in Std BOMs window.

4. Make the necessary changes.

5. Click the New Part Number lookup reference.

   The Lookup For New Part Number window appears.

6. Select a row and click Select. Or, double-click the new component part and revision.

   Click Cancel to exit from the Lookup For New Part Number window.

7. In the list of parent parts, select those with component parts you want to replace.

   To replace the component part in all parent parts that use it, click the Select box. To deselect this information, clear the Select box on the grid toolbar.

8. On the Toolbar, click Save to keep the replacement.

   A message, ‘Do you wish to replace the BOM component memo along with the part?’ appears.

   • Click Yes to confirm.

   • Click No to exit.

   Or on the Toolbar, click Cancel to discard the changes.
