Add an advanced purchasing queue filter

The purchasing queue contains the parts you need to buy throughout your company. To view just the purchasing needs for a particular area of your company, you can create a purchasing queue filter to specify the purchasing information to view. To include even more specific purchasing queue information, you can create an advanced purchasing queue filter.

To use advanced purchasing queue filters, you need to know how to build expressions in SQL.

To add an advanced purchasing queue filter

  1. Open the Purchasing Queue Filter (PQFILT) page.

    • Select Production Management > Production Transactions > Purchasing > Purchasing Queue Filter.

      Or

    • Search for PQFILT in the Navigation box and then select Purchasing Queue Filter.

      The Purchasing Queue Filter (PQFILT) page appears.

  2. To add a purchasing queue filter:

    1. Click New on the Toolbar.

      Or click Copy on the Toolbar to base the purchasing queue filter on one already in the window.

    2. In the Filter Name field, type the kind of information you want to display.

    3. Specify the information you want to include:

      • Select the check boxes to include that information as part of the filter.

      • If one or more boxes appear to the right of any box you check, specify the exact information to include.

      • Click the arrow to select the appropriate value from the list.

        Or click the lookup reference to select from the respective Lookup window.

  3. Add the advanced filter:

    1. Select the Use Advanced Filter Expression check box.

    2. Click Save on the Toolbar.

    3. Click Edit Advanced Filter on the Toolbar.

      The Purchasing Queue Advanced Filter Expression (PQADVF) window appears.

  4. To add the expression yourself, type it in the Advanced Filter Expression field.

  5. To build the expression:

    1. To select a table field to use in the expression, double-click it in the Fields field.

    2. To add the logical operators, click the AND, OR, NOT, <>,=, ==, <, or > s.

    3. To add mathematical operators, click the +, -, *****, and / s.

    4. Type the filter criteria.

    5. Click OK.

      Click Cancel to exit from the window.

  6. Click Save on the Toolbar to keep the filter.
