Reclassify a part

Occasionally you may need to reclassify a part, which means renumbering it and assigning it to a new location.

To reclassify a part

  1. Open the Inventory Transactions (INVTR) page.

    • Select Production Management > Production Transactions > Inventory > Inventory Transactions.

    Or

    • Search for INVTR or Inventory Transactions in the Navigation box and then select Inventory Transactions.

    The Inventory Transactions (INVTR) page appears.

  2. Click New on the Toolbar.

    Or if the transaction on the page is a reclassification of inventory , you can base your transaction on it. Click Copyon the Toolbar.

    The Create New Inventory Transactions window appears.

  3. In the Transaction Type area, click the Reclassification.

  4. Click Accept.

    Click Cancel to exit from the Create New Inventory Transactions window.

  5. Specify reclassification details:

    1. Click the lookup reference at the end of the Part Numberbox.

      The Lookup For Part Number window appears.

    2. Highlight a row and click Select. Or, double-click the part number.

      Click Cancel to exit from the Lookup For Part Number window.

    3. In the Reclassify Quantity box, type the quantity to renumber

      Or click the icon at the end of Reclassify Quantity box. This action displays the Calculator. Select a desired date.

      If the reclassification date in the Date box is not correct, change it.

    4. Type any comment in the Comment box.

  6. In the From area, specify the part’s original location:

    1. Click the lookup reference at the end of the Location box.

      The Lookup For Location window appears. Or, double-click to select the location.

    2. Highlight a row and click Select to select the location.

      Click Cancel to exit from the Lookup For Location window.

      Or type the value in the Location box.

    3. If you have bins set up in Made2Manage, type the part’s bin number in the Bin box.

      Or click the lookup reference at the end of the Bin box.

      The Lookup For Bin window appears.

    4. Highlight a row and click Select. Or, double-click to select the bin.

      Click Cancel to exit from the Lookup For Bin window.

  7. In the To area, specify the part’s new number and location:

    1. Click the New Part Number lookup reference.

      The Lookup For New Part Number window appears.

    2. Highlight a row and click Select. Or, double-click the part number.

      Click Cancel to exit from the Lookup For New Part Number window.

      Or type the value in the New Part Number field.

    3. Click the Location lookup reference

      The Lookup For Location window appears.

    4. Highlight a row and click Select to select the location. Or, double-click to select the location.

      Click Cancel to exit from the Lookup For Location window.

      Or type the value in the Location box.

    5. If you have bins set up in Made2Manage, type the part’s bin number in the Bin box.

      Or click the lookup reference at the end of the Bin box.

      The Lookup For Bin window appears.

    6. Highlight a row and click Select. Or, double-click to select the bin.

      Click Cancel to exit from the Lookup For Bin window.

  8. To update the cycle count based on this reclassification, select the Update Cycle Count check box.

  9. Click Save to keep the change.

    Or click Cancel on the Toolbar to discard the changes.
