Change a job's priority in the production schedule

The job priority determines where a job falls on the schedule. You can change the priority of a job to reflect its urgency and to change its position in the schedule.

To change a job’s priority

  1. Open the Modify Job Schedule/Status (JOSCHD) page.

    1. Select Production Management > Production Transactions > Shop Floor > Modify Job Schedule/Status.

      Or

    2. Search for JOSCHD or Modify Job Schedule/Status in the Navigation box and then select Modify Job Schedule/Status.

      The Modify Job Schedule/Status (JOSCHD) page appears.

  2. On the Toolbar, click Browse.

    The Browse For Modify Job Schedule/Status window appears.

  3. Select the row that contains the job order whose priority you want to change, and click Select. Or, double-click the row that contains the job order whose priority you want to change.

    Click Cancel to exit from the Browse For Modify Job Schedule/Status window.

  4. In the Priority box, type or select a value for the job’s new priority.

    A lesser number gives the job a higher priority; a greater number gives it a lower priority.

  5. On the Toolbar, click Save.

    Or, on the Toolbar, click Cancel to discard the changes.

    The next step is to regenerate the schedule to include your changes.
