Buffer Zone Definitions

This page to defines the zones cumulative percentage for the Drums and Shipping buffers. These two percentage columns

A parameter is included to define the way Buffer Penetration is calculated for job operations which did not yet arrived at the buffer.

Two options are supported for buffer penetration:

• Actual Arrival: Buffer Penetration is based on actual arrival at the buffer as compared with the fixed buffer target schedule set at release time.

• Schedule Arrival: Buffer Penetration is based on the projected schedule arrival as compared with the fixed buffer target schedule set at release time.

The Zones percentages, as well as the above Buffer Penetration calculation method, are stored centrally and are common to all users.
