Remove a part from a standard bill of material
A part’s bill of material contains information about the part and each of its components. At times, your company may stop making a product, sub-contract a part to a vendor, or make a different part in its place. You can remove the old part from standard bills of material.

To remove a part from a standard bill of material

Open the Standard BOMs (BOM) page.
- Select Production Management > Master Data > Standard BOMs.
Or
- Search for BOM or Standard BOMs in the Navigation box and then select Standard BOMs.
The Standard BOMs (BOM) page appears.

To no longer use this part in the bill of material but to keep its record:

Make the necessary changes.
- In the Effective End box, type the date you will no longer use this part in the bill of material. If the date is today, type yesterday’s date.
Or click the icon at the end of the Effective End field. This displays a Calendar. Select the desired date.

On the Toolbar, click Save.

For each component to remove from the bill of material:

Select the component part number to remove.
- Click the Delete icon from the Action column.
A message, ‘Are you sure you would like to delete this record?’ appears.
≡ Click OK to delete.
≡ Click Cancel to exit.

To remove a part using the Bill of Material Builder

Open the BOM Builder (BOMBLD) page.
- Select Production Management > Master Data > BOM Builder.
Or

Search for BOMBLD or BOM Builder in the Navigation box *and then select BOM Builder.
The BOM Builder (BOMBLD) page appears.

On the Toolbar, click Browse.
The Browse For BOM Builder window appears.

Select a row, and click Select. Or, double-click the bill of material. Click Cancel to exit from Browse For BOM Builder window.

On the Toolbar, click Delete.
A message, ‘Preparing to delete this information. Are you sure?’ appears.
» Click OK to confirm.
» Click Cancel to exit.
