Add, change, or remove inspection results on received items

To track troublesome suppliers and production problems, keep a record of the quality of goods you receive.

To add, change, or remove inspection results on received items

  1. Open the Production Inspection (RINS) page.

    • Select Production Management > Production Transactions > Quality > Receiving Inspection.

      Or

    • Search for RINS in the Navigation box and then select Receiving Inspection.
      The Receiving Inspection (RINS) page appears.

  2. Find the receiver:

    1. Click Browse on the Toolbar to select the receiver to inspect.
      The Browse For Receiving Inspection window appears.

    2. Select a row and click Select.

      Or, double-click the row to select the receiver to inspect.

      Click Cancel to exit from the Browse For Receiving Inspection window.

      When displaying Customer Returns, instead of PO Number, the RMA Number is displayed and Customer is displayed instead of Vendor.

  3. To add the inspection results:

    1. Click New.

    2. Add the inspection results:

      1. If the inspection date is not today, in the Insp Date box, type the date.

        Or, click the icon at the end of the Insp Date field to display a Calendar, and select the required date.

      2. In the Insp By box, type the inspector’s initials.

      3. Click the Insp Code Lookup Reference.

        The Lookup For Insp Code window appears.

      4. Select a row and click Select.

        Or, double-click the inspection code.

        Click Cancel to exit from the Lookup For Inspection Code window.

      5. In the Qty Passed and Qty Failed boxes, type the quantity passed and failed.

        Or, click the icon at the end of the boxes to display a calculator, and enter the required value.

    3. Add the location for the items:

      1. Click the Loc Lookup Reference.

        The Lookup For Loc window appears.

      2. Select a row and click Select.

        Or, double-click the row to select the location. Click Cancel to exit from the Lookup For Loc window.

      3. Click the Bin Lookup Reference and select the bin. The Lookup For Bin window appears.

      4. Select a row and click Select.

        Or, double-click the row to select the bin.

        Click Cancel to exit from the Lookup For Bin window.

      5. In the Comments box, type any comments.

    4. Click Save to keep your changes. Click Cancel to discard your changes.

  4. To remove inspection results:

    1. Select the row of the required item.

    2. Under the Action column, click the Delete icon.

      A message, Are you sure you would like to delete this record? appears.

    3. Click OK to confirm.

      Click Cancel to retain the value.
