Change accounting year budget

You can change an accounting year budget after someone adds it.

To change accounting year budget

  1. Open the Budgets (BUDG) page.

    1. Select Financial Management > Master Data > Budgets.

    Or

    1. Search for BUDG or Budgets in the Navigation box and then select Budgets. Budgets (BUDG) page appears.
  2. Select the budget:

    1. On the toolbar, click Browse.

    The Browse For Budgets window appears.

    1. Select the row that contains the required budget year, and click Select.

    Or double-click the row that contains the required budget year.

  3. Make the necessary changes.

  4. To change the values of an account:

    1. Click the account in the list of accounts.

    2. In the Base Value list, select to base the account value on:

      Last Year’s Budget: Based on last year’s budget.

      Last Year’s Actual: Based on last year’s financial activities.

      New Value: A value you select.

      Last Year’s Budget +: Based on last year’s budget along with a percentage.

      Based on Account: Based on the value of a different account.

    3. To further specify the value:

      ≡ In the New Value box, enter a value to indicate a new value.

      Or click the Calculator icon to display a Calculator. Enter the required value.

      ≡ Enter a percentage in the % box beside Last Year’s Budget +, to base the value on last year’s budget plus a percentage.

      Or click the Calculator icon to display a calculator. Enter the required value.

      ≡ Click the Based on Account lookup reference.

      The Lookup For Base Account window appears.

      Select the row that contains the required account number and click Select. Or double-click the row that contains the required account number.

      Click Cancel to exit from the Lookup For Base Account window.

  5. In the Application Type dropdown, select to apply the same value to each accounting period, or to increase the value by a percentage each period.

If you chose to increase the value by a percentage each period, enter the percentage in the % box beside Monthly Increase.

  1. On the child toolbar, click Apply Now to apply the new values.

  2. On the toolbar, click Save.
