Select barcode symbology

The barcode symbology you select determines how many characters your barcodes can use. The barcode devices supported by Made2Manage can use either of the following symbologies:

• Code 39 allows uppercase A–Z, digits 0–9, the hyphen (–), the space, $, /, +, and %. Five bars and four spaces make up each character.

• Code 128 allows all 256 characters in the ASCII character set. Three bars and three spaces make up each character.

If you change the symbology, you must reprint all your barcodes.

To select barcode symbology

1. Open the Bar Code Symbology (BCSYM) page.

   1. Select Production Management > Production Transactions > Shop Floor > Bar Code > Bar Code Symbology.

   Or

   2. Search for BCSYM in the Navigation box and then select Bar Code Symbology

   Bar Code Symbology (BCSYM) page appears.

2. In the Select Symbology section, specify the symbology to use:

   • Click Code 39 to include Code 39 barcode specifications.

   • Click Code 128 to include Code 128 barcode specifications.

3. On the Toolbar, click Save to save your changes.
