Add casual bill of material to job order

A casual bill of material roughly estimates the materials needed to produce a part. For parts that do not already have standard bills of materials, you can add casual bills of material to your job orders.

If a standard bill of material already exists for this part, you cannot add a casual bill of material.

To add casual bill of material for job order

  1. Open the Job Orders (JO) page.

    1. Select Production Management > Production Transactions > Shop Floor > Job Orders.

      Or

    2. Search for JO or Job Orders in the Navigation box and then select Job Orders.

    The Job Orders (JO) page appears.

  2. On the toolbar, click Browse.

    The Browse For Job Orders window appears.

  3. Select a row that contains the required job order, and click Select. Or double-click the job order.

    Click Cancel to exit from the Browse For Job Orders window.

  4. On the toolbar, click More Actions.

  5. Select More Actions > Actions > BOM Casual.

    The Job Order Casual BOM page appears.

  6. For each item to add:

    • On the child toolbar, click New.

      Or click Copy to base an item on the selected item.

    • In the Description box, enter the part description.

    • In the Unit Material Cost box, enter the part’s cost.

      Or, click the Calculator icon to display the calculator. Enter the required value.

  7. On the toolbar, click Save. The BOM is created and added to the job order.
